TQ Special: Scaling Social Impact

Turn on the news, and all you’re faced with is problems. Whether it’s the refugee crisis, integration problems, global warming or our unwillingness to be altruistic, the future doesn’t always look bright. This is where tech can step in and help solve some of the most pressing issues of our time. But how do you know where to focus your time and money to have the biggest impact? Which new strategies, models, and ideas are shaping the future of good doing?

At the upcoming TQ Special, we’ll be hearing from three startups that tackle social innovation in different ways: Makers Unite, and TQ residents Off Grid Electric and Kinder.

The evening will be moderated by Tatiana Glad, co-founder of Impact Hub Amsterdam. Impact Hub is a growing network of incubators for social innovation in major world cities, which exists to inspire and support social innovators to realize initiatives for a better world.

About the speakers

  • Thami Schweichler is the director and co-founder of Makers Unite, which runs a social inclusion programme facilitating the integration of refugees, by inviting them to create sustainable products.
  • Roeland Menger will talk about creating sustainable models at Off Grid Electric, a solar power company which aims to bring affordable energy to homes across Africa.
  • Mathys van Abbe will be talking about his new project, Kinder, on a mission to disrupt the world of donating to good causes.

If you’re interested in the world of social innovation and finding out which new strategies, models, and ideas are shaping the future of doing good, sign up for the TQ Special on September 14th!
