Introduction to the GDPR with Project Privacy
On the 25th of May 2018, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will take effect after an incubation period of 2 years. The GDPR will be applicable to all 28 member states and will automatically replace any local laws governing privacy and data protection. It will apply to any company that stores or processes data from any EU citizen.
For those not familiar with the GDPR, Project Privacy will give a quick update on what is going to change and how it will affect your business. This entry-level presentation will explain the most important definitions, rights and responsibilities and will discuss some common use-cases regarding data processing.
Project Privacy was founded by Melanie van Heffen and Remie Bolte to help companies implement privacy & data protection laws by providing assistance on both the legal part as well as the technical implications. Their approach differs from most legal firms as they will translate legal terms into actionable recommendations.
After a presentation of around 45 mins, explaining the key changes and things to be aware of, there will be a chance to ask any questions in a Q&A session.
