Community Meetup: #design first edition

TQ Community Meetups aim to strengthen our community by bringing together like-minded folks within an industry to share their experience and grow together.

Are you a designer looking to connect and learn from other designers at TQ? Are you also willing to give back and share your expertise? Then this is for you!

Being part of the TQ community means we have access to a valuable knowledge source: Ourselves. Join the design meetup to network with other design enthusiasts and exchange ideas and practical tactics that can be easily integrated into your everyday workflow!

What to expect

The design meetups will focus on topics from interface design to psychology and user experience. This meetup will be about building a common language for your design and development teams by using design systems.

Schedule

  • 16:30 - 16:50 - Getting to know each other!

We’d love for you to share the design work you’re currently working on along with a little bit about your background.

Jim Zarkadas (Experienced Designer at Pressidium and TQ member) will be sharing his experience with the tools and workflows he’s tested to build your own design system. He’ll be deep diving into the wonders of using design systems, giving attendees an opportunity to see if this is the right solution for your design and development team.

  • 17:15 - 17:30 - Q/A and Open Discussion

Jim’s talk will be followed by an open discussion about frustrations, confusions, tips, and tricks about how to integrate design systems into your team.

  • 17:30 - 18:30 - Design Critiques and Networking

The design critiques session is a chance for you to get a second opinion from other designers in TQ, so bring along a piece of work that you’d like to get feedback on. Keep an eye on the #design channel for details on how to submit your work. The meetup will end with a round of drinks on us in the club!
