Build your own image recognition app: Hands-on workshop with IBM (postponed)
This event has been postponed - stay tuned for the new date.
On March 10, we will welcome Damiaan Zwietering from IBM to lead this hands-on workshop, during which you will learn how to build a web application that can detect different yoga poses using AI and machine learning.
In this session, you will learn how to detect human poses in a given image by using the Human Pose Estimator model from the IBM Model Asset eXchange, and implement this on your own laptop.
After this, Damiaan will show you how to use the detected poses to train an SVM (support vector machine) model that is then able to classify different yoga poses that are presented as an image or seen through your webcam. You can then experiment with this yourself and learn how to use it in your own applications.
This session is ideal for beginners who are looking to explore using different technologies such as AI and machine learning. The format will be a brief introduction, followed by a short demo by Damiaan, and then guided work on your own laptop — don't forget to bring it!
- 14:45 - Doors open, coffee & tea available
- 15:00 - Workshop begins
- 17:00 - End
